Best-selling flutist Al Jewer and noted keyboardist Andy Mitran are
joined by a family of critically-acclaimed guests including cellist
David Darling, guitarist Vinnie Zummo, didgeridoo player John Hall,
Chapman stick performer Arthur Durkee and percussionist Jaymes
Finlayson. Together, they bring to life magical improvisations that
are truly greater than the sum of their parts. Made in friendship and

THE MUSICIANS
AL JEWER - Internationally-acclaimed flutist, composer, studio
musicianand record producer Jewer¹s collection of flutes contains
instruments from every major culture of the world. His work can be
heard in scores for film and video and on over 25 CDs spanning the
last 15 years. His albums have received many award nominations and
recognitions including Best Native American CD and Best New Age CD.
His first disc, PRAIRIE PLAIN SONG, made its debut at #4 on the
nationwide radio charts and still receives international airplay and
worldwide distribution. Jewer has received critical acclaim for live
performances at festivals, fine arts concert series, museums and other
events. Recent appearances include CBS's 48 Hours, Chicago's Whole
Life Expo, Milwaukee's Indian Summer, Chicago's Adler Planetarium,
Wisconsin Public Radio, the Shingoe the Center for Native American
Studies, and worldwide syndicated TV shows taped at WGN Chicago.
ANDY MITRAN - A veteran composer, producer, percussionist,
keyboard player, and drumming facilitator, Mitran is now in his 16th
year of commercial music production in Chicago and just completed 14
years as music director and onscreen character "Professor Andy" on
WGN-Television "Bozo Super Sunday Show." He has composed, arranged,
produced, and performed music for advertising, film, documentary,
interactive media, corporate use and children's video. In his private
recording studio, he also does post scoring, sound design, and audio
post production; clients have included Sunbeam, Kraft, The History
Channel, Ford, The Chicago White Sox, Ondeo-Nalco, Red Storm, Konami,
and CBS Sportsline Fantasy Baseball. Mitran has received five Regional
Emmy Awards, a Gold Award from Worldfest Houston, a Cine Golden
Eagle, Parents Choice Award, BPME Gold Medallion and an INTV First
Place Award.
DAVID DARLING - Grammy-nominated Darling has utterly redefined the
way the cello is played. His five bestselling solo albums and
appearances with Bobby McFerrin, Spyro Gyra, the Paul Winter Consort,
Arlo Guthrie, Peter Kater and R.Carlos Nakai represent nearly every
musical genre and every conceivable way a human can communicate via
stringed instrument. He has also collaborated on musical scores with
European filmmakers such as Jean-Luc Godard and Wim Wenders.
ARTHUR DURKEE - This ethnomusicologist is widely recognized as one
of the world¹s masters of Chapman Stick Touchboard, as well as a
peerless multi-media sound designer. A Fulbright scholar with studies
in Java, he later worked with Glen Velez, John Bergamo, and numerous
dance and theatre companies. Durkee released five popular recordings
since 1995.
JAYMES FINLAYSON - The founder of One Drum is best known as a
scholastic artist-in-residence, educator and as a featured performer
with the Ko-Thi African Dance Company. He is a practitioner of Reiki
meditation and vibrational healing through music, and was a
co-producer of the critically-acclaimed AFRICAN VOICES recording. He
also performs with the Milwaukee-based jazz ensemble, Clamnation.
JOHN HALL - A Chicago area physician, Hall plays amazing
didgeridoo and is a member of the Mens Art Forum of Chicago. He
performs regularly at a variety of exhibitions and events, and is
featured on the Mens Art Forum Exhibition CD.
VINNIE ZUMMO - One of the most in-demand New York session
guitarists and sound designers, Zummo has played and/or recorded with
Joe Jackson, Art Garfunkle, Shawn Colvin, Roger Daltrey, and Paul
Carrack as well as for film/TV projects helmed by Francis Ford
Coppola, Angelo Badalamenti, and other A-listers. His solo and
collaborative recordings are prime examples of pushing musical
boundaries into exciting new audio frontiers.
