InFocus warranty repair

Last October I submitted a warranty repair request to InFocus for my X1
which was suffering from a grinding colour-wheel. I ticked the box that
said "please organise collection" because I couldn't be bothered to
organise a courier myself and it seemed the easiest option.

Anyway, two weeks later I received an email telling me that since I
hadn't returned the unit the RMA was now cancelled. I swore a little but
since the grinding had (mostly) stopped by itself I figured I'd wait
until closer to the end of the 2-year warranty period before sending it.

Bizarrely enough, a UPS van turned up last Tuesday (3rd Jan) expecting a
parcel for collection. After some investigation it turned out to be the
InFocus collection request which had finally filtered through. I decided
it would be churlish to ignore, especially since the grinding had been
getting progressively worse again, so after checking with InFocus that
they were actually still expecting the projector I packed it up and it
was carted off on Thursday (5th).

I set about rearranging the room to accommodate the old 32" CRT, and
steeled myself to putting up with the (relatively) tiny screen for at
least a couple of weeks and (according to some horror stories) anything
up to a couple of months.

Then today Mr UPS turns up again with the projector. Given the speed I
was expecting it to have been rejected (the dreaded "no fault found")
but according to my better half (who's at home) the docket states the
wheel has been replaced and they've even flashed the latest firmware for me!

So kudos to InFocus for what has to be the quickest repair turnaround
I've ever known - 6 days including courier to and from the Netherlands.

Can't wait to get home - I've got three Season 3 "24" DVDs to watch
