You seem to have a logic deficit here, Jack.
If this had not been a Jewish reporter, then this remark, far from being
anti-Semitic, would have been seen as sympathetic to Jews i.e. using
'concentration camp guard' as an insult.
The guy responded "But I'm a Jew".
To suggest that you can't insult a Jew because you (rightly/ wrongly)
think he's using the 'only obeying orders' excuse, is, in itself, racist
and to object to that is a manifestation of political correctness. It
may be in bad taste, or even hurtful, but Jews are just as capable as
the rest of mankind of doing unpleasant things.
It's ironic that those who are shouting the loudest are those who bleat
on endlessly about the PC scourge.
Of course it was an idiotic response when all he had to say to the
initial question was "the evening went very well thank you".
But then, that's the Ken we know and love? :-)
